Gina is a beautiful 16H grey Hanoverian mare by Genever, out of
a Pik Koenig dam. Gina is a beautiful mare of modern type, with
lovely expressive gaits and a wonderful temperment. Gina was imported
in the fall of 2000, in foal to Drosselklang II, with her kind and
gentle temperment she quickly became a favourite in the barn.
Pik Koenig, Grenadine's dam sire, is noted as the
most successful son of the famous showjumper producer, Pik As xx.
Pik Koenig himself is the sire of 15 approved sons and over 200
Main Studbook mares. His son Pik Bube won 11 of 12 advanced competitions
under rider Herbert Rehbein and is Pik Koening’s most noted
producer to date having sired the 1981 Bundeschampionat winner,
a mare named Pikjante as well as Pik Bube’s Girl, the 1990
Federal Mare Show winner in Verden.
Pik As XX was easily the most famous Abendfrieden
XX son in German warmblood breeding. Breeders and interested buyers
soon recognised that he was a genetic transmitter with a lot of
potential. One component of his success was in his dam line. The
bloodline of Postenkette also produced the top hereditary transmitter
Pindar XX (private Trakehner breed), Parenzo XX (Warendorf state
stallion), Pernod XX (private stallion in Westphalia who became
well known under Willi Schultheis), the full Pik As XX brother Perser
(Celle state stud) and Playmate (Warendorf state stallion), all
of whom without exception matured to become renowned sires in their
areas of specialization. Even though he transmitted wonderful movement,
Pik As' was best known as a sire of showjumpers, and produced a
number of approved sons. The task of upholding the line's versatility
fell mainly to Pik König, a top producer of showjumpers whose
progeny also managed to jump into the higher spheres of dressage
sport.
On June 2nd, 2001, Gina delivered a colt by Drosselklang II. This
colt, named "Dr.
Pepper", won the Verband Inspection Championship, and was
declared a top stallion prospect by Dr. Ludwig Christmann. Dr. Pepper
then went on to win "Grand Show Champion" at the 10th
Annual Sport Horse Breeders Show in Blainville, Quebec. Gina has
3 offspring in Germany; a beautiful 4 y.o. gelding by Linaro with
super gaits and excellent jumping ability, ( Sold to California
after winning a 4 year old division against 120 horses ) a 3 y.o.
